The extern programme has been running since 2004 and caters for vets, or vet students, who wish to further their veterinary experience in equine surgery and medicine. The post which, is available per calendar month, is based within the hospital. The externship gives the opportunity to work closely with the clinicans and housevets tackling the wide variety of emergency and elective cases. Accommodation is provided on the hospital premises.
The programme has been very popular and the waiting list can be long. Applicants should be either in their last year of undergraduate veterinary medicine or qualified veterinary surgeons.
