Liphook Equine Hospital

Commited to caring for your horse

The Referral Hospital

The Hospital is staffed by a wealth of experienced veterinary specialists in both surgery and medicine. The expertise available in the hospital team is reflected by 4 RCVS Specialists6 European diplomates, 2 RCVS diplomates, and 11 RCVS certificate holders . There are also 4 housevets within in the hospital, looking after the day to day care of all in-patients, working closely with the senior clinicians in all aspects of our patient's needs.  We also have a strong team of nurses with a vast range of qualifications and experience in many equestrian disciplines and competition.

The hospital provides both elective and emergency services admitting surgical, medical and lameness cases 24 hours a day.  We take pride in offering a comprehensive service to our clients, and referring veterinary surgeons up and down the country (including some from abroad). We have in-patient facilities for 50 horses, looked after by a dedicated team, working 24 hours a day, every day. We believe we offer the very highest standard of inpatient care through our true 24 hour nursing-this easily enables very close monitoring and treatment of cases 'around the clock' as the duty nurses work throughout the night rather than being on call when needed.

Remote Services

By invitation the surgeons and medics are able to travel to other facilities to perform advanced surgical or diagnostic techniques.

Hospital Appointments

First opinion clients can make appointments for investigations directly with the Hospital.  Horses that are not registered as first opinion cases with us are welcome, but they can only be seen following referral by their own veterinary surgeon or practice. This is for the benefit and safety of the horse.  That way the horse’s best interests are preserved and, perhaps, may jeopardise any insurance policies which may help cover veterinary treatment. Owners who would either like a second opinion on their horse or whose own vet suggests a second opinion should, in all cases, ask their own vet to make the initial referral contact.
